Apple and Sage Pork Chop Recipe by McCormick

I love to try new recipes every week, but sometimes life gets busy and I wind up making the same old, same old.  Last week while I was shopping, I saw these new Recipe Inspirations by McCormick and knew this could be an easy answer to the same old, same old.  To my delight, it was amazing!  Better yet, it didn't take any more time than any other meal I would normally cook.

According to McCormick, "each packet including a pre-measured McCormick spices and herbs and a collectible recipe card. With just a few of your own fresh ingredients, you’ve got inspiration to make a memorable meal any night of the week."  I completely agree!

Apple & Sage Pork Chops

Package Includes:

1 1/2 tsp. Rubbed Sage
1 tsp. Minced Garlic
1 tsp. Thyme Leaves
1/2 tsp. Ground Allspice
1/2 tsp. Paprika

You Will Need:

1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
4 boneless pork chops, 1 inch thick (about 1 1/4 lbs.)
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 red apples, thinly sliced
1/2 cup apple juice
1 tbsp. brown sugar

Directions:

  1. Mix flour, all of the Spices and salt in a small bowl.  Sprinkle both sides of pork chops with 1 tablespoon of the seasoned flour.
  2. Cook pork chops in hot oil in large skillet on medium-high heat until browned on both sides.  Remove from skillet.  Add onions; cook and stir 3 minutes or until tender.  Add apples; cook and stir 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in juice, sugar, and remaining seasoned flour until well mixed.  Return pork chops to skillet.  Bring to boil.  Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 5 minutes or until desired doneness.
I served this with a side salad and some biscuits.  It was delicious!  It is also a perfect recipe if you are having company and want to impress.  Trust me, you won't go wrong.
