The Clean 15

Which organic foods are worth paying the higher price?  Are they more nutritious?  A limited budget might make the decision for you and of course, it is a personal choice about what you think is best for your family.

But, going back to the question of what foods should you buy organic and which foods can you skip?  Earlier I posted about the Dirty Dozen.....now here is a list of the Clean 15.  These fruits and vegetables have the lowest levels of pesticide residue.  However, if your baby eats alot of any of the following foods, you could consider going organic anyway.
  1. Onions
  2. Avocado
  3. Corn
  4. Pineapple
  5. Mangoes
  6. Asparagus
  7. Sweet Peas
  8. Kiwifruit
  9. Cabbage
  10. Eggplant
  11. Papaya
  12. Watermelon
  13. Broccoli
  14. Tomatoes
  15. Sweet Potatoes

Try to feed your baby organic foods if you can, but don't stress if you can't.  In the end, it comes down to making sure our kids are eating plenty of whole grains, fruits and veggies, whether or not they are organic.
