Over Night French Toast

I love, love, love french toast.  Luckily my family loves it too.  I make breakfast quite often and french toast is usually on the menu.  Sometimes mornings can be hectic, especially with two kids now.  So, I am looking for easy alternatives to our household's favorite foods.

I came across this recipe on Pint Size Planners and had to share!  I have seen similar recipes, but there is always an ingredient that I am missing.  Not with this one though.  I have all the ingredients I need on hand.  Plus, this is definitely a recipe your kids can help you make.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 loaf Texas toast (I used french bread because I hate soggy french toast!)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Directions
  1. Melt butter in microwave & add brown sugar….stir till mixed.
  2. Pour butter/sugar mix into bottom of 9 x 13 pan….spread around
  3. Beat eggs, milk, & vanilla
  4. Lay single layer of Texas Toast in pan
  5. Spoon 1/2 of egg mixture on bread layer
  6. Spoon on remaining egg mixture
  7. Add 2nd layer of Texas Toast **note you might want to mix the bread and the egg mixture thoroughly instead of layering so you make sure that all of the bread is covered**
  8. Cover & chill in fridge overnight
  9. Wake up the next morning and Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
  10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or serve with syrup
  11. Add a side of fresh fruit
  12. ENJOY!
